
Supra condylar fracture (Elbow fracture)

* What is it? A fracture of the humerus just above the elbow joint, commonly seen in children. * Common cause: Fall on an outstretched hand. * Symptoms: Pain swelling tenderness deformity and difficulty moving the elbow. * Important warning signs: Pale or cold hand weak or absent pulse numbness or tingling urgent medical attention. * Treatment: Depending on the fracture treatment may involve casting or immobilisation or reduction and pinning. * Physiotherapy: After medical clearance gradual elbow ROM, strengthening, functional exercises and return to activity training. * Goal: Restore pain free movement strength and normal function.
